We have a major client that publishes various language newspapers across Australia. On occasion, their advertisers do not adhere to their payment agreements and the debt is sent on to us.
One particular debtor had been promising payment of approx. $30,000 prior to Covid and subsequent business interruptions. The debtor then used Covid as an excuse for non-payment.
After offering the debtor different payment plans and none of them being agreed to, the debt was sent to us for recovery. By this stage, the debt was close to 18 months old.
Following our intervention, we opened the lines of communication with this debtor and now have them on a reasonable payment arrangement that works for both parties.
